Editorial take

Who should book INNSiDE by Melia New York Nomad?

If this is your first New York trip, shortlist INNSiDE by Melia New York Nomad for a practical reason: Value, terraces, central location, business trips. The name, star rating and lobby photos matter, but the real test is whether the location helps your days feel easier.

It is less compelling if you want character, luxury or a quiet neighbourhood. Before booking from the UK, compare the final price after taxes and property fees, check the exact room setup and make sure your airport arrival route is not needlessly awkward.

First-timer context

Why INNSiDE by Melia New York Nomad might feel special.

What it is known for

  • The hotel has three terrace suites with outdoor space looking towards the Empire State Building, which is rare at this price.
  • Rooms use oversized floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, so even standard categories feel lighter than most Midtown equivalents.
  • The fitness centre has its own outdoor terrace, which is unusual in a Manhattan hotel of this size.

New York moments

  • INNSiDE is the design arm of the Spanish group Melia, and this is its New York property.

On screen

  • A modern hotel with no screen history; judge it on the rooms and location.

Review questions

What travellers keep asking.

Is this hotel in NoMad or Chelsea?

The name says NoMad but West 27th Street between Sixth and Seventh is generally considered Chelsea, in the flower district. It is a good example of why you should map the address rather than trust the hotel name.

Are the terrace suites worth booking?

There are only three, and private outdoor space with an Empire State Building view is genuinely scarce in Manhattan. If they are available for your dates they are the best rooms in the building.
